Fracture Theatre is a new theatre company set-up in the North East of England to offer people in different communities the chance to perform on stage. We create stunning pieces of physical, experimental and quirky theatre that always has audiences wanting more.

 Fracture came about because there seems to be a huge gap in the market in the north east for theatre companies. Yes there are groups in Newcastle and Sunderland that create theatre, but Fracture offers a much more in depth experience. In the theatres we have in Tees Valley, how many productions have you seen that are original? Written by the company? How many are just doing a re-make of something seen on TV? And how many are doing the same musical numbers that were done ten years earlier? These are questions we ask ourselves all the time when making theatre. Why do we rely on the past to dictate the theatres future?

The company are a quite an array of people from different backgrounds, all with different abilities and levels of performance. The majority of the company is made up of people between the ages of 16 and 25.

Fracture Theatre is an energetic company offering an introduction to the world of experimental theatre to young people and communities in the North East of England. The company, which is based in Billingham and Stockton, began in 2006 under the alias of 'tribal fusion'. The company has many years experience in the performing arts field, but also created its own new and innovative works that push the foundations of theatre. We specialize in physical theatre and story-telling through dance, drama, song and movement. We work intensively with organisations and other projects such as; Stockton's International Riverside Festival, Wear Valley Council, Stockton Borough Council and and we produce home-made shows. With a team that includes professional theatre practitioners, budding future artists and people from all walks of life, Fracture Theatre Company has an expanding group, well practised in theatre and performance.
